Having completed a degree in Criminology and Sociology, as well as my degree in Careers Advice and Guidance I decided that I would like to do something completely different. I have spent the last 6 years working within a young people's service where I initially supported young offenders back into education, employment and training and then progressed over to the business development unit. However, after having my son I realised that although I loved working with people and missed working one to one with clients, I decided I would like to be able to do so in a more flexible and slightly less pressurised environment than the public sector.
After much research, I decided that reflexology was the way to go... this was a bit of a risk having not actually had reflexology before myself, but one that I am very glad I decided to take. I have gone from knowing very little about reflexology other than the fact that it was a therapy applied to the feet to now being a true advocate.
I decided to undertake the level 5 Centralia Reflexology Mastership qualification as opposed to the level 3 as I like a challenge and felt it would benefit me and my future clients in the long run. It's been a tough year of studying, I have had to complete a minimum of 100 treatments in addition to all my practical and written assessments but it's become something that I feel passionate about and thoroughly enjoy. I am a firm believer in the benefits that it can have, which have been demonstrated through my various case studies.
I am a member of Professional Reflexology and I am also trained in Baby Reflexology which is an additional area I have decided to venture into and I'm looking forward to building on my professional development in other areas and incorporating this into my practice.
