We hear it on a day-to-day basis; “do your best”, “be the best you can be”, but what does this all really mean? How does this look daily?

I’ve produced 8 points that I feel can benefit you on a day-to-day basis whether it’s on a fitness or personal level.

*Note:  STAY with me, I’m not preaching about religion, email me if you want a conversation about that.  It could get interesting.

1. OWN WHO YOU ARE

When we want to become the best, we must believe we can be the best. It sounds a cliché but it’s true. Be real and know that it’s you who got yourself here and you can take it on any path you like. You control yourself so move in YOUR direction.

2. LEARN

Power is knowledge! Identify ways you can learn to have a positive impact of your life and journey. Take one step at a time. Example: Want to drop body fat %. Research the best and most effective way and take steps to achieve the goal.

3. CREATE

Create visions / steps to get you to where you want to be. Start today and smash each small step stage by stage.

Example: You could create a 6 month plan to achieve weight loss and break it down into weeks. I want to drop 1.5-2LBS per week. Then work on how you will achieve that through nutrition and training.

4. WHAT-IF BOARD

I personally think this is so important. It’s a great way of physiologically achieving goals long term!

Write down all the barriers which may prevent you from achieving your goal. Now write down next to them how you can overcome these barriers if the situation arises. Understanding what to do in a worst case scenario is huge if you want to keep on track with your vision.

Fitness example: Got a Big, I mean BIG party to attend mid 12 week course. Create ways to limit damage caused. (e.g.: drop calories mid-week thereby allowing a higher calorie day on P.A.R.T.A.A.Y.Y day!)

*NOTE: I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING THIS ON A WEEKLY BASIS. IT CAN LEAD TO SOME DARK, DARK HANGOVERS.

5. SURROUNDING YOURSELF WITH GREAT PEOPLE

If you are constantly spending your time hanging around people who constantly put you down, of course it will affect your mind-set!

Interview scenario:

SUBJECT ONE; “good luck on your interview mate, you are going to need it as you are well out of your depth applying for this job. They literally only hire geniuses and you are, well …… slow.  But good luck J

SUBJECT TWO “Good luck today mate, they are absolutely going to love you. Be yourself and that job will be yours within seconds. No one deserves this more that you”.

Which subject has set your confidence higher pre interview?!

I’ll let you decide.

6. FIND AND CREATE WAYS TO MAKE YOU JUMP OUT OF BED IN THE MORNING

Personally for me coffee wins hand down! The day could not start in a better way than a cup of espresso rich crema strength three, 100% pure Arabica blend. POW! Not tried it?! Literally stop reading this blog and go sort your life out. Seriously, you’ve not lived.

Going back to point 6, finding small reasons to make you want to get up and start the day on a positive note will set the day up perfectly.

7. SWITCH OFF

It is really important to turn off from time to time and recoup. Do nothing and re-charge your batteries. You will always come back 10x better. Unless you are a robot, then you’ve completed life.

Ever been really, really angry and nearly reacted in a way that could cause WW3?! However, you’ve managed to stop yourself, relax and dealt with it later with no repercussions.

8. TAKE RISKS AND HAVE FAITH

What is life without risks!? This is how we learn. They might not always be right but you can learn from your mistakes to bounce back stronger. Barriers make you appreciate the journey that bit more.

You can take these eight points and apply them to your daily life whatever your goal. Remember, you control the journey and the outcomes, so make it a proud journey!
